Cedar Hollow Inn
There's nothing like a great meal and good company to help you reboot your internal drive. Just a short distance and minimal turns from the high tech world of the Great Valley corridor is a place where people go to do just that.
"This place has a friendly atmosphere with great food," said Megan Wesolowski, dining room manager at the Cedar Hollow Inn. "This is a transition spot where people stop between work and home, where people come to relax, for a lunch time break, and to celebrate. Come once and you'll come again. Come two times and we'll know your name. We've got that 'Cheer's' kind of atmosphere. It's a casual, fine dining experience where everything from tuxedos to tennis shoes are acceptable."
Purchased several years ago by Dan Wesolowski, the former Valley Tavern was totally remodeled and renamed for the tiny Cedar Hollow village where it has stood for 100 years and probably more. The "bones" of the old building remain the same, with three comfortable dining rooms including an enclosed sun porch plus a large bar area. But the new decor is impeccably fresh with hardwood floors polished to a high luster and walls brightened with the work of local artists Barbara Grant and Kristen McMurtrie.
The menu reflects the energy and creativity of the Inn's youthful kitchen staff headed by CIA trained chef, Steve Giuseppe. In general terms, Grimm characterizes the cuisine as Continental American, but more accurately it should be described as delectable. Favorites include a Mixed Sautee' of Shrimp and Scallops topped with Crab Cake, the daily seafood specials and a wide range of pasta dishes. Top it off with a sensational dessert made by pastry chef, Alena Petrovic, and you're sure to go home happy and totally satisfied.
"Our portions are generous. Nobody ever leaves here hungry," said Wesolowski.
Customers also enjoy the camaraderie found around the Inn's sizeable bar where, Wesolowski reports, "everybody loves the specialty Martinis." Live music is preformed nightly. Wednesday is open mike night and the designated opportunity for new talent to audition. Happy hours are every weekday from 4 to 6 p.m.
Able to accommodate banquets of up to 50 people, the Cedar Hollow Inn is a popular location for many private occasions from bridal showers to corporate dinners.
