Delightful surprises can be found as you ride along Route 113 near Phoenixville, PA. The individual shops and businesses are where local families take care of everything from shopping for gifts, exercising, or visiting the dentist! The Epicurean leads the way in providing this neighborly feel. The village's cobblestone sidewalks lead to its courtyard and entry.
Entering The Epicurean Restaurant and Bar is like visiting some place "where everybody knows your name!" Fun chatter coming from friendly faces emanates from the cozy bar with fireside seating. The loft above the bar is available for small gatherings and seats 24. Happy Hour at The Epicurean is Monday through Friday with discounted prices for beer and wine. The Epicurean bar is unique in what they offer from the "Liquid Library." How many places would offer you beer from more than 20 countries, and more than 165 varieties of beer, ale and lager at that?! They come from Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Finland, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, Scotland, Thailand, Ukraine, Vietnam, and of course, 75 of this count are from the good ole USA. Takeout is a popular option at The Epicurean whether it be beer or any of the great specialty dishes you might pick up on your way home from work. Owner/Chef, Lee Krasley understands how to please and help his patrons!
Personable and talented, Lee spent a good portion of his growing up years in the kitchen. He always loved to cook and enjoyed creating delicious dishes and had dreams of pursuing a career in the culinary field. Following his parents' wishes and attending Lehigh University on a football scholarship first, he studied business and psychology. It was after graduation that Lee started his catering business. As a self-taught chef, Lee honed his skills by catering parties and other special events becoming an excellent chef and owner of three restaurants today.
The Epicurean restaurant is a place for casual dining with a touch of elegance. You will be treated with crisp linens and flowers on your table and fine service from an attentive wait staff. Simplicity is the key ingredient here and the comfortable, cozy feeling beginning in the bar flows into the dining room. Lee Krasley's extremely complete menu offers choices for lunch or dinner, delicious and gourmet or delicious and less gourmet, as you may prefer. As a gourmet meal, for example, you could choose Epicurean Lobster Bisque to start your meal on a chilly winter’s day, with the Panko-crusted Chesapeake Crabcake as an appetizer, then move on to the Center-cut Filet Mignon and all the trimmings Epicurean style as your entrée. Lee offers such a variety of mouthwatering dishes, each with its own complementary enhancements – from soup, salads, pastas to desserts! As for less gourmet, the offerings include sandwiches, wraps, burger platter selections, and their own signature pizza creations with crispy crust. Great attention to flavor combinations and presentation is given to each dish by Chef Matt Vesci and Executive Sous Chef, Jamie Nafe.
Thoughtful new additions to The Epicurean's menu are the Young (and young at heart) Epicureans' selections presenting some of the same delicious dishes in smaller portions. The fun Kids' Menu offers options like pasta with butter or sauce, peanut butter and jelly, grilled cheese, or cheeseburgers are a few choices. Now the "young Epicureans" can order for themselves from the menu. A busy family man with three children, Lee knows what kids like. In fact, his children are beginning to learn about cooking and good food from the best – their dad!
