Originally constructed in 1798, the venue currently known as the Lakeside Inn in Limerick has had several owners and several incarnations - it's been everything from a stagecoach stop to a fine dining establishment. Owners Bruce and Patti Miller sought to create an exceptional environment for weddings, bridal parties, or business events, while also offering an attractive setting for everyday dining at an affordable price. They rechristened it in 2001, after two years of extensive renovations to the entire property.

Experienced restaurateurs, the Millers know that even the best restaurant concepts begin and end with food. Setting is nice, and decor creates comfort, but food makes the dining experience memorable. With Bruce concentrating on the everyday management of this expansive facility and Patti handling the responsibilities of banquet management the cornerstone component of the operation, the cuisine, has been left in the capable hands of Executive Chef Hiram Quintana. Hiram is the embodiment of an exceptional chef. He speaks about food with passion, not only in its preparation but also its presentation. Hiram is an artist as well as a chef, known for creating beautiful ice sculptures along with aesthetically pleasing dishes. Having worked in several of the areas more reputable dining establishments over the years, Hiram appreciates that being a successful chef requires him to understand the people he is serving as much as he understands the food.  He and the Millers believe that the cali
ber of cuisine must never be compromised, particularly in a casual environment.

Chef Quintana describes the Lakeside Inn's fare as American Contemporary, but the dining options are so vast, they defy classification. Guests will find that each menu items is available throughout the restaurant and banquet facility, from the casual Dylan's Pub, to the more formal dining rooms.  Lite fare selections such as the ample 10 ounce Big Fat Burger and appetizing 2 ounce Sliders are but two favorites among pub patrons. When discussing favorites we can not over look the Baby Back Ribs which are served by the full rack and brushed with a special house barbecue sauce that will keep you coming back for more. For those who prefer a more upscale setting, there are several well-appointed rooms in which to dine.  The beautiful Tuscany room seats up to 30 for private lunches and business meetings, and includes a fully functional fireplace.  The Fireside Room is another cozy, secluded room, perfect for gatherings of up to 15 guests.

Once you have settled into the room of your choice, you will be tempted with appetizer selections including Clams Casino Royal, Stuffed Mushrooms, and Bacon Wrapped Shrimp, followed by some impressive choices for your main course. The Maryland Crab Cakes, a house special, are stuffed with jumbo lump crab, pan-seared, and then finished with a light roasted garlic cream sauce. The Lakeside Grilled Filet Mignon is a 10 oz Angus filet topped with a mushroom demi-glaze and frizzled onions. The Chicken Esquire is a personal favorite. This lightly breaded roulade of chicken breast and boursin cheese is sliced and topped with twin scallops and shrimp in a blush cream sauce.

The Lakeside Inn also serves a wonderful Sunday Brunch, comprised of traditional breakfast favorites, in addition to roast beef, ham and turkey carving stations.  Brunch is served between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and costs $15.95.

Outdoor dining is wonderful this time of year and the deck which overlooks the namesake lake is a beautiful place to relax under the shade of an umbrella, while enjoying the cool breeze and a frosty cold beverage of your choice along with any of the aforementioned menu selections.

By now you are probably starting to realize that the Lakeside Inn offers a perfect setting for any occasion at any budget. It's ideal for a casual beer and some pub fare after a round of golf, a romantic dinner for two in any of the beautifully appointed dining rooms, or an intimate party in a private room. Have something a little bigger mind? How about 350 of your closest friends celebrating that special day? Or maybe a business function where first class accommodations are mandatory to uphold the image of your company? Chef Quintana's culinary team, together with Patti Miller's expert event planning and preparation, ensures that any event held at the Lakeside Inn will be a success.
